A View of Old Tbilisi with Christone Holidays

As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the city of Tbilisi, a group of eager travelers embarked on a journey with Christone Holidays to explore the heart of Georgia’s capital—Old Tbilisi. The city, steeped in centuries of history, welcomed them with its charming blend of ancient architecture and vibrant culture. The group’s guide led them through the narrow, winding streets, where cobblestone pathways echoed with the footsteps of generations past. Their first stop was the Narikala Fortress, perched high above the city. As they reached the top, the view was breathtaking—below them, the old town spread out like a storybook, with its red-tiled roofs, colorful houses, and the winding Kura River reflecting the warm evening light. One traveler, entranced by the sight, commented, "It’s as if time has stood still here." The guide smiled and explained how Tbilisi, over the centuries, had been influenced by various cultures—Persian, Ottoman, and Russian—each leaving its mark on the city’s unique character. From the fortress, they descended towards the Sulfur Baths, a historic site famous for its healing waters. The domed rooftops and the faint smell of sulfur in the air transported them to a bygone era. "This is where the kings and poets of old found solace," the guide shared, as the group imagined the ancient rituals that once took place here. As night fell, the group gathered on the Metekhi Bridge, overlooking the peaceful waters of the Kura River. Lights from the buildings reflected on the surface, illuminating landmarks like the Sioni Cathedral and the charming Shardeni Street. The city buzzed with life as locals and tourists filled the streets, yet there was a quiet, almost magical atmosphere that lingered in the air. The tour concluded with a traditional Georgian dinner at a cozy restaurant. The travelers tasted local wine, celebrated for its rich heritage, and enjoyed khinkali, khachapuri, and other regional delicacies. With music and laughter filling the room, the group reflected on the enchanting experience of exploring Old Tbilisi, a city where the past and present coexisted harmoniously. As they prepared to leave, one traveler remarked, "Tbilisi isn’t just a city you visit; it’s a place that stays with you." The guide nodded, "That’s the magic of Old Tbilisi—with Christone Holidays, you don’t just see it; you live it."

Rike Park

Mother Georgia with Christone Holidays. Perched high above the city of Tbilisi, overlooking the ancient streets and the winding Kura River, stands a towering figure that symbolizes the spirit of Georgia—Kartlis Deda, known as Mother Georgia. With Christone Holidays, a group of travelers set out on a journey to explore the rich history behind this iconic monument. The day was clear as the group began their ascent to Sololaki Hill, where Mother Georgia stands tall. As they climbed, the guide shared stories of Georgia’s enduring resilience, explaining that the statue, built in 1958, symbolizes the nation’s character. At 20 meters high, Mother Georgia holds a sword in one hand to defend against enemies and a bowl of wine in the other to welcome friends—a powerful reflection of the Georgian spirit of hospitality and strength. When the group finally reached the monument, they were struck by the sheer scale and the commanding presence of the figure. She gazed out over Tbilisi, her expression calm but determined. The guide explained how the statue was designed by Georgian sculptor Elguja Amashukeli to commemorate Tbilisi’s 1,500-year anniversary, embodying the country’s dual nature—fiercely protective yet warm and welcoming. From the hilltop, the group could take in a panoramic view of the city. The old town, with its colorful rooftops and winding streets, lay below them. To the west, the modern part of Tbilisi stretched out, showcasing how Georgia seamlessly blends its ancient heritage with its vibrant, evolving future. It was clear that, just like Mother Georgia, the city embraced both its past and present. One traveler, moved by the scene, remarked, "It’s incredible how this statue captures the essence of Georgia—open-hearted and yet strong in its identity." The guide nodded, explaining how Mother Georgia has become a national symbol of unity, pride, and resilience, particularly during times of conflict and change. As the sun began to dip behind the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape, the group paused to take in the moment. It was not just a statue—they realized—but a representation of Georgia’s soul, standing watch over her people and her land. Later that evening, over a traditional Georgian feast, the group reflected on their experience. The visit to Mother Georgia had not only offered them stunning views of Tbilisi but also a deeper understanding of the nation’s spirit and heritage. With Christone Holidays, they had seen more than just a monument—they had glimpsed the heart of Georgia itself.
